PFY Scholarship Application

How to Apply
  • Complete the PFY Scholarship Application.
  • Attach an official and complete transcript.
  • Provide proof of at least 3 seasons of participation in PFY (see check sheet, next page)
  • Complete Applicants Personal Narrative (see attached)
  • Have completed General Evaluation (see attached)
  • Submit completed application along with all attachments and documents to the following address, postmarked by April 15th, in the applicants senior year of high school.

  • Recipients will be notified by May 15th of the current year. The funds will be made payable to the recipient, contingent upon proof of enrollment.
  • One male and one female scholarship to be awarded this year in the amount of $500.00.

Selection Criteria
  • At least three seasons of participation in PFY organization.
  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
  • Community involvement
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Demonstrated written communication skills as determined by the formal writing sample

Other Information
  • This year's selection committee was chosen by the Parents for Youth board members.
  • Each year the PFY board members will vote on who will be chosen as the selection committee.
  • The selection committee members for the current year have already been selected.
  • In the selection process all applicants' names will be removed and only the requested criteria will be evaluated. (For example: essay, evaluation, etc...)
  • All awards will be made without regard to race, creed, color, religion, or nationality.
  • The Deb Parker Memorial PFY Scholarships are for the first year of study only. Scholarship Awards are not renewable.
  • The Scholarship may be applied toward tuition, books, materials, or miscellaneous educational expenses for the four-year or two-year public or private college or university, technical college or accredited educational institute of your choice.
